Oil pulling is a method in Ayurvedic Medicine to remove bacteria and promote healthy teeth and gums. In most cases, it can be more effective than flossing and is one of the best ways to whiten your teeth naturally.

The process is straightforward; you swish about a tablespoon of our Pulling Oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes.

This method works by removing fat-soluble toxins and bacteria from your mouth when you spit out the oil and creating a clean oral environment that contributes to the prevention of gingivitis, bad breath, cavities, tooth decay, and gum infections. 

There have been studies (Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine) that show Oil Pulling is one of the most effective natural ways for preventing tooth decay and premature tooth loss. They also reach beyond the teeth and explain that it may also help prevent heart disease, systemic inflammation, acne, and throat dryness, and it can also help strengthen the jaw, and of course, help with TMJ symptoms.


The steps are simple to complete:

  1. Get in a routine to incorporate this into your morning routine (before eating or drinking & brushing your teeth). You only need approximately one tablespoon. Place in your mouth and begin to swish around for 15 to 20 minutes. The best way to complete this is to do this while preparing your morning mojo or getting ready for your day.

  2. You want to be sure as you are swishing the oil around that you are moving it through your teeth as well. Try never to swallow the oil since it will have some toxins or bacteria from your mouth.

  3. Spit the oil out in the sink or a trash can. Then rinse your mouth out with water.

You want to repeat this for one week, then scale it down to two or three times a week for best results.
